Central California Corvette Club President's Message

Welcome to the Central California Corvette Clubs website. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Walt Ogden and I am currently the President and a founding member of the club. A Mr. Jack Rushing and I got the CCCC incorporated in 1991 but we had a lot of history even before that.

   My lovely wife, Jane, and I have seen a lot of people come and go in the years, changing our Corvette family throughout the years. Each of them lived a Corvette life style for either a short period of time or for much longer. Meeting each and every one of them has always impacted our lives with memories. As the years go by, the cars may change drastically but the excitement of that first one just hasn’t changed for that new owner.

   Our membership contains such a wonderful array of people. They literally come from all walks of life and blend together in their own unique way. Some enjoy the WSCC car show tour, which allows them to compete at different events throughout the year against other Corvettes only in their particular category. It makes for a clean, shine, and sit back day to admire that which has made your new lifestyle. Others, like my family, believe that the center of this lifestyle is performance where the Corvette is the King. Whether it be auto crossing, drag racing, or any other competitive competition we will be there to prove the Corvettes dominance. But both sides still like to get together for that occasional leisure run to the hills or a social at a drive-in.

   If any of you out there would like to come over for a visit I would like to invite you to attend one of our meetings. We meet each month at the Clarion hotel, in Modesto, Ca., from 7pm to approx 8pm. on the first Tuesday of each and every month. We usually get there a little early so we can enjoy one of the meals offered by the Hotel. Come tell us what you’re driving and maybe even show us. After the meeting,  you can have a chance to talk to some of our knowledgeable folk on matters of your car or techniques of performance driving. Now if your looking for a place where you can have that cold beer at your side, do a great smoke show, and blast from point A to B, well then you just might have the wrong club. Our members know that there cars are fast and don’t have to prove it to anybody especially while inebriated.

  So come see what we’re up to and what’s happening next in our lifestyle. It just might be worthwhile.
